Hormone Imbalance Caused by Environmental Estrogens

Imbalance Means Estrogen Dominance ( Too Much Estrogen )

Estrogen dominance leads to thyroid receptor depression. Read "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You about Menopause" by John Lee, MD under thyroid. READ www.goodbyepms.com under thyroid. Too much estrogen in the form of xenoestrogens (chemical estrogens) says get ready for the pregnancy build up some fat. Free T3 is normal or low normal and TSH is also normal. It is the thyroid receptor depression. This leads to hair thinning, sugar craving, cold temp, weight gain, fat on the belly and hips, and tiredness. Strictly avoiding xenoestrogens and using progesterone leads to resensitization of the thyroid receptor back to normal and loss of weight over a period of 2-6 months.

Xenoestrogens cause you to be less sensitive to your own thyroid hormone. Thus, the thyroid lab test will appear to be normal, but the patient will look hypothyroid.

Estrogen says build up fat for the pregnancy. Estrogen does this by fooling with your thyroid hormone sensitivity and making you less sensitive to thyroid hormone.

After 2-6 months of reducing your xenoestrogen load, and taking Progestelle, thyroid receptor desensitivity will get better. So as you become less estrogen dominant the thyroid receptors will perk up and you will need to take less thyroid hormone. Thus, you will be able to reduce your need for thyroid supplementation, IF you are taking thyroid supplementation.
